Sustainable Strategic Planning and Its Role in Achieving Strategic Success: An Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Employees of the General Company for Petrochemical Industries
Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the impact of sustainable strategic planning as an independent variable through its dimensions (stakeholders, vision, values, and mission, goal setting, current situation analysis, implementation, and review) on achieving strategic success as a dependent variable through its dimensions (adaptation, survival, and growth). The practical use of the research was for the employees of the General Company for Petrochemical Industries. The main research question was to determine the role of sustainable strategic planning in attaining strategic success. To answer this, the main research question and a set of sub-questions were formulated to achieve the research objectives. To determine the dimensions of the research variables and formulate hypotheses, the researcher relied on a variety of studies and scientific sources. For the work field the researcher used the descriptive-analytical method to describe the research variables and analyze the hypotheses, by using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27 and SMART version 4 for structural equation modeling using the least squares method. The research sample was taken by using simple random sampling method. The research community was (130) of the employees of the General Company for Petrochemical Industries, (108) questionnaires were distributed, and (104) questionnaires were retrieved. Of them were valid for statistical analysis, which constituted the research sample; the response rate was (92%). The research reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which is the existence of a high level of awareness among the employees of the General Company for Petrochemical Industries of the importance of sustainability. But here were some technical issues with its real-world application.
