Employing Ethical Ideology in Employee Welfare: An Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Employees at the Karbala Education Directorate
Abstract
The objective of this research was to analyze and explain the nature and effect of the independent variable (ethical ideology) and its dimensions (moral idealism, moral relativism) on the dependent variable (employee welfare) and its dimensions (workplace welfare, psychological welfare, and life welfare). This was reflected in the major question: (What is the relationship between ethical ideology and employee welfare?) The study was carried out in the Karbala Education Directorate and involved a random sample of (278) respondents who held a bachelor's degree or higher from the research population of (1000) employees. The main data collection method was a questionnaire developed using a five-point Likert scale. The study relied on a number of descriptive and analytical statistical approaches, the most important of which are the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient, and linear regression. The data were evaluated and processed with the aid of modern statistical software (SPSS). This study has led to several findings and applications, the most noteworthy of which was the significant and beneficial effect of ethical ideology in its dimensions on the enhancement of the welfare of employees in the studied business. Based on the results, it was advised that the Directorate of Education adopt and update its code of ethical conduct and provide a supportive work environment that contributes to improving the professional and psychological welfare of its administrative and instructional staff.
